A reach for dreams, a reach unfulfilled
leaves so much longing in its wake.
There is a longing to return to innocence
to the time when dreams came true .
Alas, this is a wish that falls short
and leaves a deep well within the heart.
This well is full of empty hopes
Which does not fill the void of dreams
Instead it makes the heart go longing
Wondering about all the possible “what if’s”
No answers are offered as none are truth
For the hope in question has disappeared
Leaving a wave of heart destruction
Hard not to relate, but. . .when a door closes, another
opens? Small window, at least? Brava for expressing
so well a reaction that most of us -- all, I suspect -- have
suffered many times. Brava for using it to fuel your writing. Proves
proves that where there's a will, there's a way? Sounds
trite because it's true. Have a safe and happy holiday, and a better new year! 'Pea' <3
Our dreams, whether they are fulfilled or not, will always be there for us. The poorest person in this world is one who has no dreams left. So, keep on dreaming, and dreams big, dream well!!!
