A place was there hidden well and deep
where memories like to prowl and creep
and dreams float about the top
while darker thoughts sink down and drop
the light above the dark below
the horizon is a mix of both bestowed
this place is locked from daily gazing
touching thoughts by barely grazing
and yet, the influence, though so subtle
finds its way, and can cause trouble
the thoughtful mind oft’ unaware
is caught in these dim memories snare
and soon the need to again recall
brings the memories to the forefront one and all
and now the hurt, and now the joy
the worst and the best are fully employed
each so much stronger, and so replete
colors today’s thoughts and sometimes competes
for logic and sense, for their truth
is tempered by time, and emotional juice
so whenever a thought pops out in your space
consider that it may be way out of place,
and do not allow this pallet of tints
color your current ideas and hints
instead bear in mind the past and its lessons,
just let new thoughts grow in their own special seasons
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
A profound composition in good rhythm and message... "thought colors"
is a poetic bouquet diffusing scent of wisdom.
