the passing of time

It is sliding past like frost on warmed windows
Picking up speed as it closes on the end
A pace that is breathtaking and yet unchanged
So they say, so they say
Tomorrow was forever and now gone in a blink
Once a watched pot never boiled
Now is dry and black right in front of me
So they say, so they say
They say a lot. Most is a fable
Time has no end, they said, and yet my time does
There are no limits on what you can do, umm
Try picking paper off the floor with an old back!
So they said and they were deluded.
Time has a schedule to keep
An ever accelerating pace
We are just along for a very short ride
So I say, so I say

"He said, she said," the writer bored us so.
But "I said," now that's a different song indeed
It delights and soothes and moves us
Like a nickel sack of weed.

Nice poetry with timely thoughts and observations. Oh, the aching back... I sympathize with you on this Sandi. Come visit my site and plan along with me in my garden, also back breaking work, but such a pleasure to me. Pass the ice pack, please!

Omega Factor by John Henning
