hiding our real nature

Each day a disguise, a false image Presented for all to see Each day an icon, a figurehead, a mask That the public understands and accepts as real And yet Is not, nor ever will be realistic or honest Such is the public presentation of our souls A fake the world wants to see Rather than the real deal

Detriment to how i put on a happy face when i feel bad.... It is a mask, to shut out my feelings to others,, can relate well to this.

A statement that could be taken at "face" value, if not for the fact that those we are closest to, usually have a better view of our inner person. Those who pass through our lives may not see the inner being, but those who are closest, may get the close-up we may not want. I hope my close-up is good, do you? God may know us best of all. Bob

As I read this I sense that fear of the unknown is present. Fear that has no basis in fact, only an emotion.
