Looking toward the future

ENVIRONMENTS

Water dwellers swim,
and swim, and swim
in liquid freedom;
the ocean goes on,
and on, and on.
For them there is
no boundary.

Creatures of the air
fly, and fly, and fly
through blue eternity;
there is no end
to the sky.

But we who inhabit
the solid surface
are not so free.
In our domain are
mountains, roadblocks,
restrictions--and
the land ends.

However, humanity
has a greater future.
Ultimately, we soar,
and see forever,
in a land without
boundary.
