LITERARY STARS

Given the mutability of literary style
and the popularity of "new," even
a best-seller star might dim
quickly, and die.

And after the fall, and the author
loses notoriety, he/she, may with
effort extraordinary, briefly
gain another sky.

But, eventually, the prized remains
of every writer's dedication will
languish in some outdated tomb,
doomed to die.

Except, maybe once in a century, a
career literary excavator will find a
missing masterpiece, and chime it
back to a new high.
