I had some buddies
that were into
four wheeling
only non-screamish chicks could go
I barely passed
it was hard very hard
to keep my white knuckles to myself
there were usually about four of
those monster vehicles
climbing unclimbable mountains
forging uncrossable creeks
we always took the gear
chains ropes shovels
and most importantly a working winch
for the inevitable crazy that got in trouble
happened
every time
when we scratched our way
to the top of the hill
and looked back where we’d been
I always thought
how o how did we get here
it looked impossible
it was impossible
but we did
relationships
are like four-wheeling
you gotta have the guts for it
you could always bail
and hike on back to the main road
the safe paved road
but you’ll never drink in the vista
from above that way
you’ll never
experience the look what we did
look where we are
feeling on the paved road
it takes guts
white knuckles
ropes, chains, shovels
and a good working wench
that would be me
to make it to the top
no screamers allowed
except of course
a whoop is allowed
at the top
