friends
people who love you
for who you are
people who don’t care
that you constantly make
mistakes
there are some people
kindred souls
that I want to thank
for helping me
know joy
for laughing with me
for crying with me
for loving me like I am
I know I’m a mess
I know that
most of the time it can’t be easy
to love me
but your always there
always know
by the tone of my voice
by the look of my face
by the words that I write
when I need to be pulled out of the gutter
when I need a pat on the back
when I am broken
you somehow find the time and energy
the love
I need
jesus what would I do without
you
how the hell did I get so lucky
how the hell

all
my
love

josie

This is so touching and true...especially here...Kat Clifford led me to a place where friends are always near... we are lucky, indeed!

Excellent, Josie. I've been noticing that poetry does change the world. Think of all the people who've been posting their poetry here and revealing their inner selves. Then they go back into their noisy daily lives with a renewed sense of purpose. :)

To have a friend is to be a friend. I am sure you have many with the spirited person that you are.
