I’ve decided today
to
like me
brave statement I know
coming from me
about me
but you see
I’ve haven’t liked me much
I don’t like the things I say
or do
sometimes I don’t like anything
about me
but this is what I’m stuck with
I am who I am
and there could be worse
than me
there really could
I have a sharp mind in a blunt way
mindful not great with…see
I can’t even think of the word
you know remembering things
ha (that would be retention I have a retention deficit)
history dates and such
and names o names I suck at
especially if I don’t like you
then you fall in the category of
what’s her name
or goofy butt
that’s not to say that I don’t like all
the goofy butts in my life
but
there are some redeeming qualities
about me
I can’t think of any right now
and it doesn’t much matter
because
dammit
I
like
me
good bad indifferent
I like me
and I’m going to keep on liking me
till I die
and
that really is all I have to say about that
today
anyway
I am glad that you have come to terms with liking you because I happen to like you too...and not only that, but, I also happen to know that many, many others like you as well. You may as well know...we actually love you...good, bad or indifferent...no matter how you may be. No matter how you may feel from one day to the next...you are always there to speak our conscience, our emotions exactly the way it is. What kind of world would it be without Josefina in our lives? We would always be missing a great part of this family and of our hearts.
