so today I’m thinking about
how
people come and go
you know friends
how some pop into your life
hang out
and then disappear
hate that
especially ones that I make
a
connection with
ones I want to keep
but
for one reason or another
they slip away
try as I might call email beg plead
life
has a way of gapping
my friends
and
I’m not happy about it
I want all the people that I love
to know
that you are missed
there is a blank space in my day
my life my heart
and it bugs
but there it is
nothing I can do about it
but whine
and know
the next time we connect
it will be as it was before
just a beat later
just a heartbeat
that’s
just
how it is with friends

Josie, this was very good, but sometimes things happen and your life goes on
and so do friends. I have experienced this all through life. Its heartbreaking
but its sure is fun when you meet up with these lost friends, right?
(((josie))) excellent, i've been there...the friends i had years ago have moved on...wonder what's happened to them? i'll always be your friend, encourager, and fan of your poetry...BELIEVE IT. (((HUGS))) and love this excellent write, love, karla. :)

Beautifully done, Josie.
I must admit, I feel the same way. My friends through life have been much like chapters in a book, they will always have their place and time, but the pages seldom touch one another. How I wish I could gather them all together.
Keep the faith...
