Anima Mundi

Deep in the most hidden places,
In the moist darkness of organic Earth,
In the abyssal depth of the inner mind,
In the distant reaches of the Universe,
She lives a slow life, constant
As the seasons and  aeons turn,
my muse, my lover, my goddess,
the Anima Mundi..

A Damselfly flaunts its colour for a day
Kings and paupers pass their decades
to lie in their ending side by side.
A star burns out, its soft  light fading
As fires are swallowed by an inner void.
In the cosmos all are the same.
Time has no numbers and each cycle
must return to the point at which
It starts and ends, bound by the force
that connects all things and brings
all things together and destroys
what it has made, to make again.
 

 The spirit moved on the face of the waters
The ancient scripture said,
In the darkness, before The Word was spoken.
"Ea".
“I am,” she says, “and know that I am”.
But before that knowing there was life,
Consciousness growing. The Anima Mundi
