Better to trust Him, than try to make things work your way.

Poem Artwork

The best laid plans of mice and men, are thwarted, by man's greed.
But, if you count on on men at all, you've missed the point indeed.
To plan is good, to know your aim, is wisdom, the fruit is peace of mind.
To count on any bit of it, you might as well be blind.
For all that comes and goes, in life, all that ever is;
He knows before what blesses us, and better things He gives.

If all your knowledge, and all you've done ,
make you think for even just a moment, That on yourself, you can rely;
You'd better think it thru again, cause your buyin into the LIE.
He knew ahead 1000 years, that that my motor home wasn't ready to go;
was there to guide and show me, make the crooked places straight.
He knows the wicked hearts of men, His light their darkness does, expose,
And, when they face the KING OF KINGS;  they do as their supposed.

The things got done, that should have:
already been,
had He been in their life, had right,
a chance to win.

The world has brought it's evil self, to the very brim.
The chances of a real escape,, are getting mighty slim.
Time, as always, didn't wait for my,
well laid plans,
I found myself with waiting time,
on my antsy hands.
But when I left I had a coach, that can take me anywhere,
with all major things in-tact; some, installed, under my watchful care.

The journey, though ,was quite a trip, with all that said bout trustin Him,
I'm still the goofball that lives in here and, and will readily
testify,
that anything bout me, that's not grounded in Him, will only
impede His awesome plans, the self is the last one, on which
we should, rely.

Thank God, His patience is greater than mine,
Thank God, He's in my life, and, for those that for me pray,
without the spiritual cover, I'd surely lose my way.
In the end He shows me what's wrong, and then He intercedes.
He makes the way smooth and straight, nothing can, His Will, impede.

They fixed my rig, it all got done, some of which I added to the list.
I knew the man who owned the shop, knew what and how to do;
the things that would make it, as described: all set and just like new.
I paid for, some, they covered the rest, and on the 6th day:
It purred and all the work was done, I'd soon be on my way.

I hooked the dolly to the rig, and backed the 4 runner on;
the whole thing turned out to be, a whopping, 64 feet, long.
Dollies with a car attached, can not be backed too far,
The pivot point  on the dolly opposes the wheels on the car.
So off I went, no going back, forward, the only gear;
my neck and shoulders ached, to keep it tracking true ;
The beat up roads in Arizona, made it hard to steer.

The traffic was horrendous, and the tension was very high,
then just like that, the city was gone, and I settled into the drive.

By one in the afternoon, I'd come quite a ways,
the temp was over 105, as I sailed by the LA haze.
To go on or to stop, was what was on my mind, the passes, that were coming up; were no easy climb.
I talked to RHO, on my cell, we prayed, and I went on;
another friend in Christ I called and with all that cover,
well what could go wrong?

The roads were rough, the grades were steep, I climbed them, at 40 miles per hour, in 106, degrees, my hands were sweating profusely, and I had shaky knees.
The blower motors, I had installed, on the radiator's front, were, roaring in my ears.
They saved the day, the temp would dive,
from 230 degrees, back to 185.
Then finally over the top; only to have to pay close attention, with 6% down grades, to shifting, to the proper gears.

No lady, did I get to see , no golf in Mesquite.
But getting back, with this awesome home on wheels, all set and ready for TLC.
I had some plans wrapped around that plan, but, He showed me once again.
He knows what's required,
He knows what, I need;
the rig, all up to snuff, and getting home, safely; was His wonderful plan,
for me.

Makes you wonder with awe how our fore fathers trekked west with that covered wagon, brave souls that they were. Glad you made it OK.
