Livin nice livin easy, all our toil is through. Planned and schemed and sacrificed, So we could do what, we would, do. But when I look at all the things He gave, to help my plan, I know that all this time I have, should be partly, for my fellowman. Fat and sassy doin as I please., even playin computer games, easy to forget the many without, millions of faces with no names. House is paid for so's the car, the boat and motor home, too. Things that don't even count when it comes to getting by, and making it thru. It's easy to just sit around, even whine bout nothin to do, then I finally saw, I'd missed His plan for us, in what He'd have us do. It don't take much, of time and else, to open up your eyes, and heart, to see the needs of those without, to help them get a start. He'll show the ones that He wants helped, just as He promised He would, and doin somethin for somebody else is always, doin yourself, real good. It is in giving that we receive, I've time, I never had, to look around and see the needs, the hurts of others not so blessed, and then be able to change it, somehow, and let God do the rest. That's what makes real joy yasee? It's doin what you can. To help the plight, or bring some joy, to your fellowman. I thought I'd have to look real hard, thought there be bunch to do, The truth is, I didn't have to cross the street, for right next door, a fifteen year old boy, never new a dad, or a man, that wasn't cruel. He sits and mopes and stays alone a lot of the time. By talkin to him and playin catch, I'm staring to break thru, It's love yasee? that' does the work, it heals and, nurtures the soul. To see the smile that wasn't there, to me; is better than gold. At church I check the prayer/needs list and listen for more. You'd be surprised, as I was, how much there is to hear. When your in your own needs and mostly in your wants, well Sunday's for watchin football, and drinkin lotsa beer. A members daughter, whom I heard sing one Sunday in the past, a gal who beamed with His love, quite a Godly lass. She tried twice to get into a Bible college, but kept getting, turned down, as they required a permanent residence, right there in town. Her dream and desire to serve the Lord, gave her fearless energy; but sleepin in her, car, well they just can't let that be. I paid for her tuition, and helped her get a place, I'll tell ya now to get another God filled God daughter, to see her smiling happy face, well, all the gold in the world, could never that, replace. The list goes on, the point is made, at least I pray you see, there's lots and lot's for us to do, we blessed retirees.

I've been one of those retirees for quite a number of years, now. I must confess, it took awhile for me to get "up to speed." But as you might gather from my poem Be Still And Hear My Voice, I got the word and saw the light and know truth: "...there's lots and lots for us to do, we blessed retirees."
What a powerful piece of writing!

Dad was like that, too......help anyone who needed it.
I remember watching him weep, when a blanket he had sent to a very old Indian man, didn't get there in time, and they found the man frozen to death...I wept with him...it makes me weep remembering, even now..
Do you remember the MIRACLE I shared with you, about me and my Dad 20 some years ago? FATHER GOD GAVE ME HEALING POWER THEN, TOO!
We live the same way; simply....
Dad and I used to talk about becoming philanthropists together...when he died, I never quit asking ABBA to fulfill his heart's desire - through me - because ABBA gave me the same heart...
Your poem made me miss him again....I wish he could read what you've written....he was a poet of sorts, too, and he would have liked you - alot!
You are exceedingly special to a whole lot of people, Rock, and Joe and I and Anna, our whole family, love you, as one of ours. Keep writing in your inimitable style, Brother!
God Bless& Keep You,
