The best intentions!; still, hurt, may come
Whenever we seek to protect the self;
from our own, past and fears,
That's where the hurts, and misunderstandings,
always, seem, to come, from.
Our selves are such, that even when,
we think on Him, we do rely;
betray us for thinking one thing,
yet, on ourselves, looking, to get, by.
I keep thinking, that all the time, I spend, thinking, His thoughts;
will keep me, from running, back to what, I aught, not.
The self is mighty tricky, and is used to winning,
and getting' it's way, so you can't assume anything,
and, ya, gotta: PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!
The best you can hope for, is doing it His way; most of the time.
Never, let your guard, down, tho, never think ya, know a thing.
And Pray that, forgiveness, from those affected, is something:
they proclaim,
that, they see your, holiness, even when you hide, the same;
And will forgive you when you ask, and that SELF, caused the problem,
and that, SELF, will they, blame
Cause the truth is for all, none are exempt, from, the battle that takes place,
In the mind and in the heart, for the throne,
each, and every, day.
It's easy to give Him yourself, and you should, do it, all day; but beware lest, that, SELF, guy,
come, and snatch it, away.
