I looked for a champion but found none to believe in.

I searched for someone with ethics but what I saw was a great sin.

They all make promises but they are easily broken.

Simply words that are forgotten almost as soon as they are spoken.

I tried to find a party that I could pledge my allegiance too

But alas they do not represent me nor do they care for you.

I have studied and searched with my heart to find an answer to it all.

This was when my eyes were opened and I was able to recall.

We are the government.  We are the ones who they serve.

If those we elect to power are second rate it is what we deserve.

It is time for us to stand up and say, “This is my country and I want to make it strong.

My friends, if we do not do this our country will not be ours for long.

Your vote counts but your participation is needed also.

Stand up for this great country and help direct which way it will go.

A man once said in a speech long ago; “Ask not what your country can do for you

But what you can do for your country.”  Be all you can be and do all you can do
