Oh Ron without exaggeration little or nothing would be interesting. Enjoyed the poem much. You are so right about exaggerated duty and patriotism. Makes me think.
Truth is such a relative value with a plethora of factors to be considered. Value programing makes a thing neither right nor wrong. Simply interpreted differently depending upon the individual's value programing. Perspectives are like veiled women. Often difficult to understand and assess. As for patriotism, I prefer esprit de corps as the semantical descriptor of choice. Ignorance and prejudices walk both sides of the street on that issue. For anxiously waiting at every curb is anarchy. Balance is the key to understanding the views. Certainly there is no black and white in this arena. Only that lovely shade of gray.
