 Fog

A fog creeps in the corners of my mind,
making dreams of promises left behind.

Making dreams of loves that I have pined,
covering the creases now so defined.

Muting the sorrow of days long past,
covering the marrow of bones well cast.

Upon the pile of dreams that didn't last.
Gone with the wind in a ship's full mast.

As we sail into the mist of a fog bound bay,
not knowing what harm lies in our way.

I remember that one, that bright shining day,
when we saw so clearly what ahead of us lay.

But all that is lost in the mist of time,
as a fog rolls in and we lose reason, rhyme.

As a fog rolls in like it always does...
in due time.

Fog frightens me. I don't like the feeling of not being able to see what is ahead of me. What is waiting for me out there.

I find fog (as with many weather effects) to be very symbolic and inspiring. Well done, Ron. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you,

Lovely feel to this poem, Ron, and its mood is so evocative of all the creases of life's loves and losses. Very mute on the senses and comforting notwithstanding the ache and chill of heart. xx

I am so thankful for the fogs in my life...only the dreams worth managing to wait out, those, who know, the clearing is due to return, too. . . Those are the dreams that come true! Therefore, fog is good! :)

Love and Peace~

What is Richard talking about, how can one get in a fog from smoking...? I have been caught in many fogs like the one in the picture just off the coast of Joisey in my dads 48 footer, but I just anchored and waited it out, long before GPS & for that matter even radar on such a "small" craft...e

Seems I'm always in a fog.... and I haven't smoked in a long time. Oh,,, that's a different fog altogether, isn't it? Dick

A lament many of us sing to the sad refrains of ghosts from our past, Ron. Nice work, this.
