 Wind Free

The wind blows free,
and the you in me,
is revealed.

The clouds roll by,
in an endless sky,
and we know our fate,
is sealed.

So off we go,
to and fro,
to chase the wind,
of our desire.

Nomads of note,
in a land of rote,
we dare not raise,
the hurricane's ire.

The ease of the breeze,
does as it please,
and we are but embers,
to its fire.

We float on the draft,
our own little liferaft,
looking for ways,
to inspire.

But everyone knows,
whichever way the wind blows,
we'll bend to its whimsical lyre.

Free as the wind,
from thoughts that have sinned,
risen from the muck and the mire.

To reach for the stars,
where the wind never mars,
and our grasp soars ever higher.

"Nomads of note, in a land of rote, we dare not raise, the hurricane's ire" is the crux of this imaginative rendering Ron. A skillfully constructed and entertaining metaphor. I enjoyed it. May peace and love be always with you. Jon Michael

Love the tone and balance to this one, Ron. There is energy yet rootedness in this ever-changing tempest, calm and storm. I also like how you've crafted it; the rhyme and meter batten the poem down like tent pegs! :) xx

I love the wind; it often talks to me;
But when it's arctic, I always freeze.

A very clever write with an excellent rhyme scheme. To reach for the stars is always elevating.

When I woke up this morning around 7:00, I turned on my iPad, and there was this wonderfully prepared poem for my enjoyment. And I must say to its author that I have continued to enjoy it throughout the day. In fact, I can almost hear the echoing of a Native American drumbeat as I read it from top to bottom and then back up again. And I can see them dancing around a fire while one of the tribal members repeats the words to this poem loudly then softly, just like the movement of the wind. Thank you, Ron, for this lovely piece. It is indeed a treasure.

This one has a tight rhyme scheme. It worked well, but I think you used the word "wind" 5 times not including the title. I know you once used breeze, there is also gale, airstream, squall, gust. I'm not saying you have to change anything, but mixing it up might be good.

Overall though, lyrical, great metaphor of the wind for our desire, looking for a way to inspire, freedom, and soaring nomadic. It all comes together nicely. Well done, Danae
