Hourly workers, forced into part-time work with no benefits have merely become wage slaves to the owners of corporations and businesses, large and small. For many small businesses, this practice is the only way to keep afloat with the monopolizing of commerce by very large monopolies like Amazon. Wage disparity between those on the bottom of the hierarchy and those on the top is ridiculously out of line with the ideal of democratic economic equality and the American dream.

AI Taking Jobs © Jeffrey Lang, MovieTVTechsGeeks.com Wage Slaves Workin’ hourly for the almighty dollar, you might as well be a company man, beholden to the company's store, for every dime earned down in the holler. Those high-paying factory jobs, fought for and won so long ago, are disappearing like benefits, companies on a profits roll. Seeking overseas for their labor, low and high skilled to be done. Overseas, more profits to be won. Robots replacing routine work, webpages taking away the clerk. AI is coming along strong, singing that same old song. Outsourcing and downsizing, retraining ain’t doing so well, organizations without people, now won’t that be swell? Work hard for the almighty dollar, if you absolutely must. Taking two jobs to make it, but who can you trust? Until everyone is guaranteed, the right to a living wage, hourly workers forced into poverty, will, eventually, rise up in rage. Great poem! I totally agree. If automation meant a shorter workweek with higher pay, everyone would be for it. But it's all about exploitation of low-paid workers in other lands and our own to boost greater profits for the 1 percent who own almost everything. We need a society that brings the profits back to the communities so that everyone has what we need: health care, education, healthy food, and the right to contribute to our communities through meaningful work! Thanks for posting your poem!

We get paid just enough on Friday to guarantee we'll back on Monday, being a wage slave. Reminds me of that old Tennessee Ernie Ford song, 16 Tons. And with AI being used more and more, the future looks bleak for good paying jobs.

Nowadays many people have to get by with more then one job,
and they never reach prosperity because of the high cost of living.
Today the world is made more uncertain then ever , we need to find
an answer, but where and whom to turn to ? Brave poem dear poet,

Corporations, companies, and owners, in general, just do not care about the little guys !

The God Almighty Dollar of Profit - the bottom line - the Net ... that is all that matters to them. There�s an old saying: �he would squeeze a Buffalo nickel until it Shit� !

Perfectly describes the greed of the upper echelon elites !

There is no such justice, or a level playing field, or fairness ever employed by the people up top controlling the rules. This aptly applies to the millionaires in Congress also.

�Full speed ahead - damn the torpedoes ! � And damn the little guys too !

Sobering and true. There are jobs out there but you have to have the proper training for them and, honestly, when you're having to work more than one job to support yourself and your family and to otherwise make ends meet, who has the time or money to get that training? There must be some way to make it possible and get people into jobs and back above the poverty line.

Perfection of both spirit and reality. Training, training, training. Tech jobs are growing and with some legislation, companies could be highly motivated to train the factory workers for the multitude of tech requirements around the corner.
