while wish for better vacations, i realized i have seen a lot of America, just in a different way

Through windshields and driver’s side windows

I have seen America

Bits and pieces – fragments

Often only brief glances

Upstate New York, rich in fall colors

Fog lifting from the Blue Ridge Mountain range

Spanish moss, the Saint Louis arch

Mile after mile of hot, dry Texas

Kansas wheat, Nebraska corn

Iowa billboard from hog farmers

Asking me to eat “The other white meat”

Independence Pass – Rocky Mountain’s paradise

Dry desert sands of Arizona

Where a tiny flower breaks through a stone

Signs to Disneyland, Sea world, Hollywood Boulevard

Lapping ocean waters foaming along the California coast

City skylines – Chicago, LA, New York

Lady Liberty, The golden Gate Bridge

Monuments of our capitol

Cherry blossoms in early spring

Often my bed has been the driver’s side seat

Reclined and lit by truck stops

Yes, America the Beautiful

From windshields and driver’s side windows

You've just taken me on a trip down memory lane since I've done the same, Karen - from both driver's side and passenger side - and I've enjoyed each and every trip. There is truly much to see in this vast nation of ours.
