sometimes, life is just tough...

I want to run away,

Just be gone – check out

I long to hide away

And bury my head in my hands

To just cry until I am all cried out

Done - no tears left

Cry till all the sad is gone

I wish for long, long hours to sleep

To rise only to return and slip back

between sheets that never cooled

I desire the sleep of no interruption

Till all the exhaustion has lifted

From my heavily laden eyes

But… none of this will I do

I will get up each day the crack of dawn

I will continue the endless motions

That make this life of mine work

Putting one foot in front of the other

Over and over again

I too have this feeling of running away from everything I know too. But it won't work out for me I know. We have to face our problems and challenges given to us each day by the Good Lord and when our time comes he will take us away from all our burdens. I did like this poem. Must read more of yours too.

I don't know how I missed this delightful and uplifting poem for it was a true lifting. You will fight on as you always have done, you know no other way but this time, you are walking with all of us. God Bless and keep you in his loving arms. Love and hugs, Bonnie

"I want to Run Away"
Emotionally impacted filled with the positive and the sad.
Regardless it's conclusion carries one back to the realities of life although I suspect a broken heart was amist.

Continued blessings and love to you,
~Gwendolyn

Karen this write is strong and speaks for hundreds who feel or have felt the very same way in their lives. Whether it be from heartache, death of loved one, or perhaps just clinical depression and a dissappointment with life in general. You have spoken that voice for all of us.

Karen, this is the way many of us feel at one time or another in our lives...we have to pick up our feet and keep walking regardless of the pain. Life can take its toll on us, if we allow it to seep into our soul. Thanks for sharing...the voice is so real!

Good write Karen, but you are correct. Above all, brush yourself off, and go forward. In time the pain, hurt becomes bearable.
Be safe,

A time and place for everything some times we need to cry we need to express and we cannot hide in our work some days we need time for ourselves even if we sleep and feel sorry for ourself we cannot do that all the time but we need time to take for ourself at times. Great write I can relate and I bet many others can do.
Thanks Hugs Angela

I have felt like this lately, and many other times, too many times to count. Yet I need to realize that I don't have it nearly as bad as a lot of people; I need to be grateful for what I DO have. A good write, Karen; very well done!

Ah, c'est vrai... there are times when we simply must cry until we're all cried out. There's healing in that.

Yet, we MUST kick ourselves in the butt and keep going. We must.

Good work, Karen.

Karen,

The journey to happiness takes one step. Never, ever give up, even when you feel like it: you may be missing the next great opportunity! Excellent emotional release; many will identify with this. Well done!
