Lost on the Journey

The miles roll past beneath my tires

Familiar notes flow through the speakers

And round and round my soul

As the eerie minor keys pump sadness through my veins

Daily I continue to place one of my feet

Steadily in front of the other along the paths of life:

Some chosen with great purpose

Others by default, but chosen nevertheless

I am, at half a century, more lost than I can remember

As the one who joined me in life's journey

When I was barely five has withdrawn herself from me

I sense in my very being, in the emptiness now there

That there is not a place in this world

Big enough to hold the loss of her for me

A loss is always heartfelt and drains one emotionally. Some how you need to find the strenght to go on and do the best you can.. When my little two year old grandson died , I felt I couldn't go on .. I wrote a poem called ,, 'Living life for you. ".. Each day i tried to do something good for some one in his name . It helped me a lot.. I have written the story of Joshua on my den.. It might help if you read it.. God bless and thank you for your encouragement....M

Losing someone is a sad reality that many of us struggle with, and more so when they have followed or walked beside us for the majority of our lives. The visible pain within your thoughts and words is one that we as readers can only feel from reading. We hope you continue with the love and peace of our prayers and the touch of Light from the One who we all meet when this physical journey here is over.

Love peace and our prayers to you....

So very sad, Karen. But I think we all often get lost on life's journey, and sometimes it takes quite awhile to find the right path again.

I like what I've read so far, has a mystical feel about it, also a feeling of sadness and lonliness....touching! Write on!
