sentiments as I moved

My tangible tokens are packed and toted

The pieces of sadness and joy thus far in my years

Remnants of my childhood and of youth’s mistakes

Jog the details out of the cobwebs of my soul

Small tokens of true love and broken hearts

Remind me that I have been loved

Gifts made with the hands of three small children

Tokens of absolute innocence and unconditional love

Then the tortuous evidence of some troubled teen years

With innocence lost and unequalled pain

Gifts then given to me as they came back to themselves

In boxes together, seems somehow ironic

So onward we trek, A new life to live

Carrying with me my tokens of living and life

Pictures removed from one wall, go up on the next

The familiar transforms and warms what was foreign

The new is transformed into Home

Where the sweat of my brow will be mine

Much enjoyed, as the saying goes Karen, a home is what you make it.

"Pictures removed from one wall, go up on the next" sums it up
beautifully. Having moved I-don't-know-how-many-times, I relate
strongly. Sure a lot of other people do. You have done a great
job of m o v i n g, Karen. In more ways that one!! [Now stop worrying about those unpacked boxes and go sit down and have a cup of
Celestial Seasons. Cuppa joe, if you prefer. Maybe a spot of
cake ?} :) Pea :) xOx

Karen, life is one of constant circles, we keep our tokens and they soon transform into our lives just as they did before. A person cannot run from their memories for they will always be there to lick at the heels. I truly enjoyed this much...it is so truthful.
