Pictures on the Walls

As I observe the pictures of my life’s memories

My sister in so many…That adorn the walls of my home

Holding newly arrived nephews and a niece

All their graduations and visits here or there

She and I embracing near Lake Champlain

She and Elyssa in the sandbox playing with trucks

Her arms holding one of my newborn foals

The beauty of her wedding day

Now to her hospital room, I call once or twice daily

So sick she hasn’t answered for over a week

Finally, the second call today, her voice on the other end

An oasis in the desert of unanswered calls

How do I, so far from her

Convey the love, the hope and images of future memories

And that I carry her with me in my thoughts

As I teach, ride and go about life?

Does she know, that in my conversations with friends and family

She is ever present and ever loved?

Such a part of my life is she

Manifest in the pictures upon my walls…..

I must tell her, now that all my pictures are hung

That there is empty space on my walls waiting to be filled

I couldn't get through your words without my own tears...wondering that if it were my sister lying there...
Karen, I do hope all is well, or at least, a little less worrisome! The love for her expressed here is overpowering and yes...there are still some more empty spaces on those walls to fill! In fervent prayer...
God Bless~
Love and Peace~

Karen, this is so heart rendering & full of compassion for your dear sister...I'm sure she is aware of your love and the wonderful relationship the two of you have experienced in your lives together. Love does not grow dim, the picture grows brighter as you offer up encouragement and support to her in her hour of need. You touch her heart every day and give her faith that she will get well. My prayers are with you and your dear sister and I know someone GREATER is watching over both of you.

Does she know, that in my conversations with friends and family
She is ever present and ever loved?

I think she truly does know, as do we.

Karen,
Do not dwell on the fact that she is ill. Release this burden, send her a picture that will tell her how much you love and care about her. She may be needed of a reminder that she is loved and had a beautiful life.
Many prayers and blessings go out to you and your sister now, much
Peace, Love, and Light,
