Little Peanut

Born yesterday morning--we usually raise thoroughbreds--this one is out of our pony for my granddaughter--havn't had a wee one like this!

Little Peanut

 

Born on a bed of sweet smelling straw,

Mama’s gentle nicker, music to his ears.

And a full bag of warm good milk,

Available and ready whenever desired.

 

What a little peanut, seems fragile as a porcelain doll,

Barely up to my knees, when standing big and tall.

He doesn’t weigh as much as a bag of feed,

But don’t tell that to this bushy tailed baby!

 

He was up within thirty minutes of birth,

Found his nourishment a half hour later.

He runs (a bit wobbly) within the hour,

And has captured our hearts in seconds!

Karen, he has captured my heart too, what a beautiful baby you have. I know each time you look at him you just want to hug his little body. I know your little grand-daughter is thrilled to death. I know I would be. What a joy you have to love and to watch grow. I love the name "Peanut" how adorable. A great write seeing another of God's blessings.
