I'll Not Be Your Plaything...

Chorus:

Let me tell you a thing or two,
I'll not put up with the likes of you.
I won't be your week-day live-in Queen,
as the week-end rolls around, You're the King.
You ride around town in your Corvette,
racing through the streets in your Sunday's best.
I'll not be your week-day plaything,
I'm not a puppet you can hold by a string.

Verse:

Week nights are full of love and song,
your admirations are warm and strong...
You whisper sweet, nothings in my ear,
never see me wipe away my tears.
Our passions last for hours on end,
look out...here comes a week-end.

Repeat Chorus:

Verse:

I'm your everything when no one's around,
we're as one and not easy to be found.
I'm your woman...you're my man...
living and loving as only we can.
Your heart is mine to toy with and adore,
you confess your love for me that's for sure.

Repeat Chorus:

Verse:

I won't be a second-hand puppet on a string,
unless I'm worthy of being your week-end queen.
There'll be no more week-day rendezvous,
this woman will not put up with the like of you.
I'll be the one riding in the front seat of your Corvette,
or you can hit the road and not look back.

Repeat Chorus:

Hit the road Jack and don't look back
Don't ever look back. Even in lyrics the message is clear. Stand your ground.
Love,
Susan

This needs music. We, women, should be queens everyday, or as you say "hit the road."

This is a wonderful song, Barbara, and I bet this same thing does happen far too frequently. I received a letter recently from someone seeking song writers--wish I had saved it. I bet this would be a great song put to music--would love to hear it sang. Great job!
