I'D LIKE TO INTRODUCE MY WONDERFUL GRANDDAUGHTER WITH A POEM SHE WROTE:
My name is Alexandra and I am Connie's granddaughter. I wrote this poem one day while I was doing (or rather, should have been doing) my pre-calc homework. I wrote it to adress the way so many people in our society depend on material possessions and wealth to satisfy them. It is depressing these days how so many people turn to things and fads and not to God's Word to help them cope with life. Wealth will never satisfy. The poem is aimed at the people who supply the technology, fashion, entertainment, etc. that desperate people turn to.
Deepest Need
Life at their fingertips Advancing technology You live to please But they begin to see That no amount can fill Their deepest need.
Searching for more They turn trusting eyes to you You're quick to oblige But you see it too The endless advances Just won't do.
What will you give them now? The latest fad is over They're waiting for more now You can't blow your cheap cover You're starting to sweat How will you recover?
But relief is in sight You've done it again Your forked tongue has convinced them There will be no end Endlessly buying They devour each trend.
The cycle goes on They're ignoring the pain They just dull it with more And you enjoy your gain But you can't escape the feeling Even profit your deepest need can't sustain.
Extremely ironic You supply them without end It's never enough But it gets you more to spend The false hope you supply Will fail you in the end.
16 years old? W O W, Connie, she is a writer capable of deep, thought provoking wisdom! Well done, Alexandra, and I can see why you are so proud of her, Connie! BRAVA to the both of you.
And what a wonderful poetress you have introduced to the world. She has some wonderful thoughts and visions of our society. This is one that write that should be enlarged to poster size and placed on high school walls around the world. Young people will often listen to other yound people more so than to adults. Great write and great talent, encourage her to keep writing as I am sure you already have. She has said so much within the lines of this write...great!
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling
This is very wise indeed and replete with truth about our "modern" world. Thank you for sharing this gift Alexandra (and Connie). Love and peace to you both,

Alexandra,
You are a rare treasure. I am honored to have your poem with mine on AD. As a granddaughter, you are a gem, sweet and caring, fascinating and intelligent, always fun to be with and talk with. Of course, you do most of the talking! ;) Your integrity and Christian values are an added joy to behold. I thank God for you, Sweetie.
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
Beautif
Beautiful and full of wisdom. I was blessed reading it.
