There's the blessing of daylight,
with beauty to see;
the blessing of re-birth
into God's family;
the blessing of glad times
and days full of joy,
the blessing of labor,
with strength to employ.

The blessing of night hours,
a time for sleep;
the blessing of sorrow,
a time to weep;
the solace of heaven
waiting for me,
the blessing of living
eternally free!

As I count up my blessings
I think once again
how God pours His blessings
on women and men,
and though we can't fathom
the blessings of loss,
He gave life's purest blessing
in His love on the cross.
