I would hate getting up in the middle of the night EXCEPT that it gives me great opportunity to meet with God. The nights I can't sleep are special times. Tonight He gave me this poem. I wonder what tomorrow night will hold.

 

 

Before my mind gets cluttered
With thoughts of another day
Please wake me early, Father
I need some time to pray

While others are in slumber
Dreaming all their cares away
Please wake me early, Father
I need some time to pray

And while this day is dawning
Before sorrows come my way
Please wake me early, Father
I need some time to pray

Tonight when I am weary
Still one thing I'll want to say
"Please wake me early, Father
I need some time to pray"

Connie this was so apropo!! I so often fall asleep in the midst of my long prayer list and often ask God to 'wake me early so I can pray'.

I simply could not retire for the evening without telling you how much I love this poem. And I do hope that my Father wakes me early, for I, most of all, need time to pray. Thank you for sharing this lovely God-inspired piece.
