The moon can show up at anybody's house-- it's an amazing discovery, when you are a toddler, and the adults you knew as family are estranged.
Night comes down over
highways and parking lots,
some of us suffocating
for a reason.
Through a hole in the sky
my best friend comes dancing
across dead cornfields,
Oh, see her ivories tinkling—
her flesh is almost gone now,
a cold wind whistles
through ribs and long bones,
sockets full of blue!
I see you
bright and joyful dancer,
you are here and gone,
here and gone,
natural as sunlight.
As often as it has been said,
how could you forget
the Moon's at Julie’s?
The moon at Julie's is a beautiful sight, in verse and image: the moon at Karla's wasn't bad, either. :) Such wonderment in these lines - well done, Juliet, my new favorite of yours!
I love this one and the sincere open amazement of the world as seen through young eyes...you transgressed us back to be able to once more see the beauty we often become to jaded to see anymore. Thank you.
