I wrote this for a angry man in hopes that he may find his solace before it was too late.
Lonely
My home is not that fancy
my yard is not that large
my car is old but gets me around
I used to find life hard.
I never had much money
I always had to work
my wife always showed she loved me
and I often treated her like a jerk.
Taking out all of my frustrations
and still with me she stayed,
only with the best intentions
for me she always prayed.
I always raved and ranted,
my wife I took for granted.
I now see I was wrong
and realized these past few days
I want to mend my rotten ways
but now my wife is gone.
Last week my wife, she died.
Inside how hard I cried.
I always wanted more than she was,
I took all she could give
and now I see the pain in thee
because I have to live
by myself here in this house
she tried to make a home
I see she was alone.
With no one to love you
or show they care
these walls I see
oh how bare.
With no one to smile at
or embrace tight
no wonder my wife chose the light
for now I can see the pain in thee
I've nobody left to love me.
