Haloed Moon

Haloed moon in full glory

Guide my dreams from worry

Of distorted shadows becoming clear

Disturbed images of what is real

Kaleidoscoped faces tumbling out of shape

Fearful images my mind creates

Struggling to mend what my mind has fractured

Crumbled emotions turbulently endured

So coax me gently along your subdued beam

Away from nightmares to pleasant dreams

I like the flow and the rhyme scheme in this poem, Liz. It's like being talked down from an angry moment. Hugs:) Sheila

Nightmares can be to real sometimes. That sudden jerk upward in bed, heart racing and the sweat pouring. A perfect disply of night terrors Liz. Love it.

I like this unusual reflection surrounding the Haloed Moon, Elzabeth. We normally associate the full-flood of moonlight with tranquility, but you have shown us the Jekyll and Hyde that can exist within, for which the full moon provides solace. This has a real sense of the nocturnal surreality about it which is caused by shadows of the mind rather than by the fickleness of moonlight. Captivating and commanding, thank you. Has a very pleasant tone to it. Kate xx

There is a seraphic feel to this write Liz - the close is just superb as it reminds us of how powerful the moon and cosmos can be with everyday worries hypnotically soothed and lost in the bigger picture. Truly lovely work. Love Panda x

Elizabeth, this is such a lovely and serene poem. I, too, suffer from night fears. What a comforting thought, sleeping peacefully beneath the watchful moon.
