lol. Now I wrote this about 5 years ago and posted it on another web site who decided that this poem needed to be recorded for its tight form and rhyme. Believe me there was no other reason. Any way I am posting it here for some humor. This is a "wa-wa" poem if there ever was one.

Whining

Well, here I sit a dateless wonder

My entire life I get to ponder

Why I can’t find a mate

While crazy ideas come out of my pate

I seem to always show up late

For my very own future fate

Is this my eternal destiny

That I can’t get anyone to phone me

I have even cleaned up my act

But no one wants to join me in a pact

Of life everlasting in misery

Oh, oh, woe is me

Well, what a loada sad-faced spoil-sports! No more pity parties?? That will sure put Ben & Jerry's out of business pdq. Elizabeth, there's always room for pain and the expression of it... valleys of darkness are tunnels to fresh valleys of light and those who refuse the route of burning coals are often just walking in circles, getting nowhere fast... Trust me, it's taken 50 years to learn this! Even smiley peeps need to be allowed to shout and pout, otherwise they'd blow up. Wa-wa and blah-blah leads to ha-ha in this instance! I like! Thanks for posting and keep on the upward and onward path... with the rest of us who trundle the highway of life's ups and downs... What a Happy Band of Pilgrims we surely are! Be well, and bless you, Kate xx

NO, oh woe is them. All the poets on AD have a most incredible heart and soul.

It is a cute write --- hope you've made a pact in the last five years.

Hey Elizabeth, if your misery needs company, then you just need to ring me up. We could create a slogan, "leave your whining to us" for all the people who prefer to live life sans their own misery. LOL....

I am sure that you have a lot of "company" who shares these feelings, Liz. Thank you for sharing. Love and best wishes,

One of life's sadder side: the constant whine. Very well written AND concise!

Indeed live life, I prefer being on my own than ever going through the hellof some-one trying to own me, change me, take all they can from me, then find out she was cheating on me...

Elizabeth,

I like your poem, after reading it a few times it took on an interesting cadence. I sometimes think that words are the means by which we march our feelings out into the world. Left, right, left, right, left...out the door they go. It's much easier to look at them when they're outside.

I enjoy your humor a lot. (I enjoy my share of whining too! :o)

Whine away; I've done more than my share, more than I'd care to admit! Not about dating, as Karla said, but LIFE.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

Enjoyed reading this, Elizabeth. I've said these words alot, not about dating, but about LIFE.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
