Hubby is with her
She is gasping for air
Her lungs are suffocating
There's not much left there
Dying of lung cancer
Is a miserable way to go
I'm so glad he is with her
When she passes she will know
That he cared for her deeply
And he didn't let her down
She raised up a good son
No more shall she frown

No more pain either. Sad the way some of us have to go.

I find this especially poignant now that I have a friend that is in fact dying from lung cancer. Another one was diagnosed today and will start treatment. I had another friend that her husband stayed with her until the end. I can appreciate this one as I am a cancer survivor.
