I raised a child from five years old
She called me "Mom" and I believed
Then she reunited with birth relatives
And I was feeling really squeezed-
Out in left field, picking daisies
Wondering if I was ever her "mother"
We were disconnected for many years
But now it is like no other-
Feeling in the world to know we click
The beats were not skipped after all
She is my daughter, I am her mother
The fear is forever and ever gone
--don't give up and allow your adopted kids to find their roots if they want to, knowing that it is terribly scary to feel rejected and insecure when they do, but after time passes it can get better--

I often tell my step son who was deserted by his father that he's your father, I'm your dad. And he understands the differance. Glad all turned out well for you.
Someimes, the needs to finding one's root is very strong, especially those who are being adopted; but it does not mean that they don't love you or don't look upon you as a mother. They are more closer to you in life than they are to their birth mothers.
You are a lady with a great heart to have adopted a little girl!!!!!

I'm glad it worked out for you.
Finding roots is important, from a health standpoint if no other. Usually the fascination ends after that. That's the way it worked for me. Those are precious smiles on both your faces.
