I'm fine, I tell myself
And then, I sink into the hole
Of wondering why she acts the way
She does, and how to console
Myself for feeling sad and blue
When she seems happy and okay
But is she really?
When she keeps
Drifting farther away

Attachment disorders label what
Can happen to some of us
Who suffer when coming into the world
And develop without enough
Of the loving, touching, individual care
That pieces a person together
And if this happens attachments suffer
And longterm problems tell whether
Or not relationships will be easy
Or difficult and patterns set in stone
It may not change, but knowing helps
The ones who love the "alone...."
