I feel the waves overcoming me,
Most ride them like adept surfers tasting a delicious thrill.
Why is it that I’m not that way?
Dare I say it—Why me?

They say life is like a bowl of cherries,
It’s what you make it.
I took the cherries—made cherry pie,cherry juice,cherries jubilee
And still don’t have what I want.
I’ve manufactured the fruit and left nothing behind.

In the end though, it’s only been a game.
I won and I lost.

As her mind lamented, she noticed herself
A perfect white smile, high cheekbones, flawless skin

And, her soul responded…..
Eating cherries ripened straight from the tree
To experience their flavor for the sake of good fruit
Allows us to say,
