Just a harmless vent…if I don’t get my quiet time, I get a bit cranky! LOL!

Why do my shoes
Hurt on my feet?
Why are my clothes
Wrinkled from heat?

Why is my ear
Stuffed with earwax?
Why is my hair
Now such a mess?

I’ll tell you why
As best I know how
I’ve worked all day long--
I'm tired now

No bus came for hours
Walked seven miles home--
In linen and silk,
No time for a comb.

Used a headset
All day at work
Now I've got wax--
Ears pop--head jerks!

So what? you say.
Why should you care?
This poem has no point--
A vent to share?

And you are correct!
No point I will make
‘Cept I’m tired of work
Routines that are fake

They cause me to struggle
Strain hard and curse--
To retain my vigor..
To find the right purse!

But now's my day off!
I’ll love and live free
And I'll rest my spirit--
I’ll live just for me.

Venting via poetry can be very therapeutic, Wendi. Thanks for sharing. Love and peace,

I love this...your poem does sum up the working world, our days off help us to revive and get to know ourselves again. It is kind of funny I was sitting here thinking about how much I appreciate my days off, no rushing, no running out the door, no traffic to beat, just my time...I have to have it too. Great write...I loved it...
Blessings,

Ah, everyday life. You're poem sums it up. It is our days off that help us stick with the rigor of daily demands.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
