This poem was written out of the pain of losing someone dear to me. I dedicate it to John and all who have known the pain of loss for a loved one. God bless.
Gone But Not Forgotten When a dearest loved one Passes away Our thoughts are filled with them Each and every day.
Hardly a single moment Passes by That our hearts aren't heavy And we want to cry.
Everywhere we look A reminder is there Causing some old memory To quickly stir.
At night when we close our eyes And yearn for blessed sleep We awaken with churning thoughts Of old memories once buried deep.
We never get over The loss of our dear friend They'll always be with us Until our own very end.
I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, We repeat again-and-again As we recall the moments We might have caused them pain.
No, we never get over it It would be futile to even try But the hurt begins to lessen As time passes following our goodbye.
Time lessens and heals our pain While our life continues on Through knowing our dear loved one Is in a safe and peaceful home Where no suffering exists.
FILLED WITH THE HEARTFELT EMOTIONS THAT CAN ONLY BE EXPRESSED BY ONE WHO HAS FELT THE PAIN OF LOSS. DONE SO WELL. THANK YOU JEANETTE FOR ALLOWING YOURSELF TO OPENLY 'FEEL' SO THAT OTHERS, MIGHT ALSO 'HEAL'
GOD BLESS YOU. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Dear Jeanette . This is a beautiful heartfelt poem which touches ones inner soul. We never forget them and they live on in so many different ways, but the void is there as human presence is gone. Thanks for sharing these comforting and healing thoughts with us !......M
Very tender thoughts -- remembering our friends brings the sweetness and the sadness to light -- to live in our memories. A beautiful tribute to a friend -- and to all our loved ones. thanks. Susan Williams

Thanks for this poem I needed it in my time of grief. I know time will heal but time takes its own time and life must go on. I am a fighter and will exist and go on but God is good all the time so know poems like this are blessing to your from God.
A powerful and heart touching write.
Yes, it is so true~it takes our heart such a time to get over the loss the Void I guess one could say.
A wonderful sharing and can bring peaceful thoughts to know they are in God's hands now.
Continued love and enlightenments to you,
~Gwendolyn
A most beautiful piece dedicated to someone very close to you and yes, many can relate. Death is another piece of the puzzle that we must all live with, but it still instills an aching than never goes away.......
Jeanette, in "Gone But Not Forgotten" you have captured the hurt and despair that wounds us all. Is there anything more painful than the relentless ache of being alone in the separation from a loved one?
In the classic work The Prophet (1923), the great Kahlil Gibran reveals this truth:
"And ever has it been that loves knows not
its own depth until the hour of separation."
Yet I say this: In God's universe, there is no death but merely a passing on. And when we ourselves pass on, then the pain of missing "our dearest loved one" will end in the rejoicing of living together forever in the heart of God.
We never completely get over the loss of our loved ones, Jeanette; I know. I lost my mom over 17 years ago (she was not quite sixty when she died), and I miss her as much now as I did back then. At least I can now talk about her without falling apart, but I still miss her so much!

Yes time lessens the pain but never fills the void of such a loss. A most poignant poem that will touch most everyone when grief knocks on our door and takes away a loved one.

Beautiful writing,from a beautiful lady...Hugsssss
A beautiful and heartfelt write my friend...sad when we loose someone we love, even though we know that they are reaping the rewards from the good life that they've sewn, we can't help but be saddened by our loss. Moving write, my heart and prayers are with you!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
