Memories of You
I have so many memories of you
As I look back over the years of your life
The early days when you were a child,
The wedding day when you became Van's wife.
Those were happy days for you
Filled with hope, goals and love
The future seemed filled with eternity
The world was yours with God's help from above.
You borne a beautiful little daughter
A little girl who blessed your proud heart
God had made your life so perfect
As life for her was a glorious new start
You had your family always near you
Mother, father, husband, and daughter so sweet
All interacting in the delight and blessings of life
The simple things you enjoyed, offering proud treats
Then darkness sneaked into your world
The most horrible experience a mother can have
Your daughter died leaving you with your tears
No hope, no life, no joy left to salve.
It was a time no one could ever know
The depth of sorrow endured each minute each day
You knew that life just kept on going
Leaving you numb with little else to do but pray.
Your parents gave you strong character
A woman of grit, and boundless faith anew
Becoming your families foundational strength
Whose heart was proud and noble and true
Then the years came and went so quickly
You watched your family leave you one by one
Going to make a place in God's heavenly home
Where the Golden Gates are lit by a yellow sun.
You are to be admired and respected
For the strength you've exhibited for those you know
You are to be beloved by your friends
And praised for the wonderful deeds you've sowed.
Your church, your friends, the people you love
Are blessed to share with you their prayers and devotion
You've contributed a great portion of your life to them
And gained fulfillment despite sometimes hurtful emotions.
Now, you say you are lonely
That life has left you alone with no one to love
But you must never forget your Savior’s love
Or His blessings He continually sends from above.

On earth we cannot know of God's plan for us; but my heart speaks to me with the revelation that the glory and testing of this dear soul might well be God's seasoning for the time when she serves as His heaven-sent guardian angel.
As always, my dear Jeanette, your compassionate love is a shining beacon for us all.
