Commitment
Your wonderful, sweet and tender touch
Has brought me joys beyond compare
Your warm kiss upon my welcome lips
Remind me you are always there.
Our lives together have been a blessing
Accomplished by but a measured few
Unlike us, too many folks live their lives
Like a pot of come what may stew.
We have given the best we know to give
Turned the pages of time together
Have worked out problems and disputes
And waded the floods of stormy weather.
We have laughed when our hearts were heavy,
Loved when contention played upon our minds
Shared pleasures, pains, joys, and heartaches
Cementing our lives with unconditional love that binds.
Some say our lives appear near perfect
And perhaps compared to others, it is so
However, they cannot possibly know
The problems we’ve faced in this relationship
As we continually grow—and love.
