I will never forget the little boy whom this poem is about. I have to say he really made my day...
What A Day to be Alive!
I awoke with the alarm screeching in my ear... Another Monday it was...yes indeed, rain pelted my bedroom window... as I rushed to the closet for something to wear. A shirt over my left shoulder, a sweater over my right I began to throw. I have nothing in here...I shouted continuing to weed. Rain pounded my jeep, mud splashed my freshly washed tires. Oh no...a terrible thought entered my head... Where's my umbrella! inside my class...I recalled, walking the parking lot, I began to dread! My stomach felt sick...I wanted to weep? Traffic was hectic and conjested every route... I couldn't believe it, my clock must have been wrong... seven fify five the clock at the bank boldly read! traffic before me...must have been two miles long. Oh no! I'm going to be late, why's the traffic moving so slow... A puddle of water the red car sped through, splashing me from head to toe, now what would I do? Dropping my only cup of coffee... it spattered my white skirt! I shook my wet hair as walked through door only to hear the tardy bell ring... passing the principal in the hall...I smiled and whispered, "what a day to be alive!" Just as I didn't think I could take anymore... I was met by a smiling face inside my class, You look beautiful this morning Mrs. Bowling! The little blonde boy said with a smile upon on his lips, setting my wet bag and empty cup upon my desk... Beautiful I thought? I can't imagine why... turning to start the day with my hands on my hips. I found the little boy still standing with close by... Yes, I simply said trying hard to smile. Will you marry me? He smiled and ask... The morning's menagerie of events now seemed minute... hugging him gently a tear stung my eye... trying hard not to bawl...I replied, "I'm already married sweetheart, and...well don't you think I'm a bit too tall." Wrapping his small arms around my mud spattered skirt and hugging my leg tight, he looked up at me through tear filled eyes and softly said, "No your not Mrs. Bowling...you're just right!"

Awwwww, Joyce, don't kids just tug at your heartstrings? I got goosebumps at what this precious little boy said to you. Thank you so much for sharing that story. You made my day!
