I think most can relate to this subject...credit card debt can be a scary thing if one allows it to get out of control or control them.
The Silent Monster
Lying in wait for its victim to snare… Enticing and preying on the weak… This silent monster…unable to speak, For if it could, I am sure it would say… Use me…have fun…live it up today, It is simple…you will see, enjoy yourself…use me I am free. Slide me through and sign your name… In return many treasures you will gain. Taunting, laughing it will tease… Soon you’ll be mine… As a sore festers so this illness webs… turning quickly to disease… So the monster grows. Widening its pit to make room for the next… Luring unsuspecting victims in, Trapped in the dark and lonely mire. Buy today and pay tomorrow… Consuming its victims in the pit of debt and fire. Weakening and devouring day by day… Sign your name…laughs the monster… Give me your life… As you slowly sign your freedom away.
Ah yes. . . the plastic money monster. An all consuming hunger. But there is a hero that can snap his knees off. . . he is called, SUPER SCISSORS! You gave me a smile with this one.
Exceptional poem, Joyce, the message loud and clear. It's so easy to use the card because we fool ourselves ... no money is exchanging hands. Again, exceptional!

A good warning in form of a great poem.
Great write with a warning! We don't use credit cards..if we can't buy it with cash, we can't "afford" it..so we don't buy it. We have a debit card that can be used AS a credit card when necessary, but like Victor's Casklink in Malta, it comes from you own bank account!

Credit cards are wicked they destroy families, people can't sleep and live on the edge they do not know how to control the freedom of plastic money and find them selves victims that can damage or destroy. This is very good Joyce.....

In Malta banks use credit cards just lik any other country. However here we have a safety valve. We have a special card which can be used internationally. It can only be used if you have money in your bank. If your account is empty it will reject the transaction. We call it Casklink. It is safe and it will not let you overspend. Victor

Yep, I know it all too well..I have a trick..I never go over $600.00 and if I do I cut the card up with scissors..
