I wasn't sure where to place this poem, as it could fit in several different categories...I met an elderly lady in years past who was on my mind when I awoke this morning. I recalled her final days and how I loved to visit her as often as I could. Her family didn't visit as they always seemed to busy with their own lives, it was sad when she passed. I was glad I took the time to get to know my neighbor, my friend.

All the wonderful sentimental memories and the values placed upon each treasured one with a taste of sadness and the sand empties down into the remaining hourglass. One filled with such elogant beauty, yet a reminder of how little time we all spend on this earth....
Wow your words weaved a beautiful canvas of friendship
Alliance of gratitude!
Beautifully writing and expressed

Your compassion is a quality that cannot be denied...friends of friends are the most cherished even when the last breath of life is exhaled...nice work Joyce and peace...your love fills this page...
Very strong imagery in this piece, Joyce. I felt like I was there, roaming through her belongings. The respect you have for her comes through with sincere fondness. Nicely penned! Love and Hugs,
Sheila
What a splendid poem you have written about your friend. I too am glad you got to know her for her sake, too! Most of us will come to a similar time of life's end and it is a blessing to have such remembrances and friends. Thanks for sharing Joyce!
"Fingerprints of Time..." paints a portray of fraternity and gratitude, friendship and sublimty with the colors of the rainbow of togetherness... A poetic bouquet diffusing scent of Humanity in a Vase of love.
Right away I thought of my Aunt Gertrude...she is 92 this year and says to me, " I think God forgot about me!" and, tells me she's been ready for years! I just laugh it off, and then she joins in...I sit and wonder if she really means it or is she just saying it in jest???? She and her husband, Uncle Tony, just celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary! Now that's amazing to me!
I would feel so Blessed just to manage such preparations, as you speak of, before I go...So much seethes into my thoughts...

Beautiful and reassuring that someone else also cherishes her trinkets from bygone days from time to time. I don't stay there. Just visit. Excellent. Liz
Joyce this is abasolutely beautiful as we should all remember that one day we will all reach this age and hope someone will care. Thank you for sharing.
Joyce, you've captured images of a senior who reminds me of my 93 year old Mother. They love the things their children have given to them and they would rather die than part with one of their mementos. The images speak to our hearts as we realize this person will always love her memories and she'll cherish them until the day she expires. The imaginative colors of glassware & trinkets swelled in my mind and brought me much enjoyment as I read this.
What beauty emits from your loving words. I sat and watched and enjoyed touching with this woman. Thank You for allowing us this visit, Joyce...

I hope, some day, someone can say that he or she is glad taking the time to know me.
If not, the only think I will leave is an empty hole in the space.
This is fantastic!
Recently, my dad sent each of his children a copy of his final will and asked us what we would like to have when he is gone. It was hard to ask for anything, because that would mean that he is gone... Really it isn't the possessions that any of us want, but rather the memories that are attached to those trinkets and possessions.
Your poem made me think of that again...

Okay, Joyce, if this isn't sent out to one of the best quarterlies immediately, shame on you. This is excellence in poetry and it cries out to be shared widely. This one is a real winner!
There is romanticism in this wonderful poem of all the joys of life that have sped by leaving the material objects that reflect loving memories. Excellent imagery.
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
Be always safe,

Many more of us should be doing the same, and also cherishing each and every day we have left.
You have brought this woman back to
life with your WORD.
