Baby Mine (My Sunshine.....
Born in the morning before daylight,
curly hair so blonde, it appears white.
Wrinkly skin, frown upon your face,
people anxious to see you from all over the place.
Holding you in my arms so close to my heart,
hope and pray we two never part.
How tiny, how precious, so much hope,
will I always be there to help you cope.
A gift from God, a beautiful new life,
how will we manage your future strife.
Rocking your cradle, you fall asleep,
wrapped in a blanket, shhhhh not a peep.
One thumb gently sucking, other in your hair,
will life's journey be cruel, or fair.
I make you this promise, I love you and care,
so much to show, teach and share.
A mystery unfolding in time we will know,
searching, learning, fast you will grow.
Where will you go, what will you grow to be,
time only knows, patiently wait and see.
Tricycle, roller skates, bicycle and ball,
exploring, playing, enjoying it all.
Soon growing older, I hope you will remember,
Always will I be there, a life long member.

You have a lot of good articles on the mentally retarded that I will be enjoying catching up on. As I come closer to publishing my book about my son with severe disabilities, i hope to share more as well. Thank you for the blessing tonight with your gift of writing. Peace,
