Time out for love..............

                      Temperature warm,
                 slight breeze from the west.
                     Went outside to plant,
                  more seedlings full of zest.

         Brought my bonnet, shovel and gloves,
         attempted to work in my garden today.
        Newborn birds with fuzz on their heads,
         peeking out their nest, wanting to play.

          Put on my work shoes, began to dig,
    had bell peppers and watermelon yet to add.
 My kitties watching from their favorite window,
      caught site of the birds, began acting bad.

              One cried through the screen,
            the other climbed with all fours.
     Took off my shoes, ran back in the house,
 afraid on the screen they would hurt their paws.

       Turning to look, they saw me coming,
 leaped down off the screen with style and grace.
        The two went sliding down the hall,
    claws leaving scratches all over the place.

 Picking them up, gave them kisses and hugs,
     time out for love, I held them real tight.
    Did not mean to scare or chase them off,
 but on that screen they gave me such a fright.

            Socks, balls, ribbons and yarn,
     sat down on the floor and began to play.
     The time it passed, we were having fun,
       did not get back out to garden today.
