Thank You God......

           I write this to say thank you God,
         for hearing my prayers and listening.
      Far too many years have come and gone,
     yet I stand before you, my eyes glistening.

 Though I reached a point and finally gave up,
       you held steadfast and would not let go.
          I wear your cross proudly, a symbol
                             of devotion,
        around my neck always for all to show.

        Graciously held dear in every thought
                             and prayer,
  you have brought the one gift I cherish most.
   Together we stand after so many lost years,
         in the name of the Father, Son, and
                            Holy Ghost.

The day finally came, to the airport we drove,
    my baby brother was flying in to see me.
 Filled with emotions I paced back and forth,
    until hearing............landing flight 2333.

  Went right for the doors where passengers
                                walk,
         in the background heard the carousel 
                            go around.
       Thoughts running wild, heart pumping
                            overtime,
   suddenly everything stopped, not one sound.

   God's gentle hands were guding me forward,
      to a gentleman slightly grey with a very 
                           big grin.
     Holding on for dear life, tears mixed with 
                            hugs,
    I said, it is not fair: my head only reaches
                         your chin.
It was then I remembered, did not come alone,
Robert was by my side, he knew whom I saw.
     Stepping aside to introduce the two,
  Robert this is Gary, your brother-in-law.

Drive home was a blur; we talked and talked,
  just could not help but thank God for this
                            night.
 Prayers finally answered, tears wiped away,
  I owe you one God for this dream come true
                          delight.
