My brother's son, my nephew. He will be deeply missed....

Poem Artwork

                 Baby smile....

Remembering your baby smile,
your face lit up with innocent delight.
Wrapping your hand around one finger,
holding on with all of your might.

Jet black hair and big brown eyes,
wondering what the future would hold.
Growing stronger, on hands and knees,
reciting words both new and old.

Long before you entered school,
learning how to read and write.
Dressing up with cowboy hat,
cowboy boots, shorts, such a sight.

Outside you went, a big boy now,
with Radio Flyer always in tow.
Always smiling, always laughing,
forever with your ducks in a row.

Mastering your brand new bike,
roller skates, bat and ball.
Little league and cub scouts too,
always trying, giving your all.

Junior High and High School,
joining the swim team and football.
All the while, unbeknownst to you,
the winds of time subtly call.

Time for dating and spreading your wings,
all grown up or so you think.
Out on your own, falling in love,
giving all that one special wink.

God must have other plans for you,
hearing your prayers, your uncertain plight.
Leaving behind a wife and young child,
your time on earth cut short this night.

Remembering your baby smile,
your face lit up with innocent delight.
Wrapping your hand around one finger,
holding on with all of your might.

I can feel the pain and see the tears as you wrote this loving eulogy of a life lost at such a young age. Bloody shame!
A book "Praying our Goodbyes" by Joyce Rupp may help in this excruciatingly painful time.

Sometime a poem can reach the agonised depths.
May you and his family and friends find inner strength and peace. x

You can shed tears that he is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Losing a so near family member shocks our soul out of its complacent balance and pushes us into a unbelievable emotional turmoil.
There's when the shoulder of a near friend are ready to take your sadness weight.
With my deepest condolences.
