Bless Our Soldiers at Rest

We weep for our departed. Grieving, heavy hearted Our feelings draw our tears. Our sorrow now God hears. As far as eyes can see, So near and around me, The flags and notes we find That loved ones left behind. Dear God, please bless, Our soldiers at rest. Dear God, Please bless Our Soldiers at rest. 2. A sea of crosses, Soldiers that made us free. Watching with pounding pulse. I go and tend them with tears. I reach with unsure hand To those back from foreign lands, I reach to touch the Hell, To soothe those who fell. Dear God, please bless, Our soldiers at rest. Dear God, Please bless Our Soldiers at rest. 3. Men and women with pride, For you and me they died. They struggled soon and late Their suffering was great. Sing praises again Red, white and blue defend We will defeat our foes No matter where they go. We are the USA Forever we will say “Dear God, please bless, Our soldiers at rest.” Dear God, Please bless Our Soldiers at rest.

Memorial Day is my favorite holiday mainly because it honors those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Powerful read.
