Yesterday's Memories

Yesterday's memories
were once so alive.
All of the joking,
laughter, family and friends.

~*~

To those memories you
must now say goodbye.
For slowly your mind
is coming to an end.

~*~

Like a cruel theif
lurking in the
stillness of the night.
Just waiting to rob you
of your precious mind.

~*~

You spend your days
searching
for some kind light.
Only to weep for
darkness you find.

~*~

Feelings of frustrations
and oh so confused.
No knowledge of what is
even going on around you.

~*~

"Alzhiemer's"
Such a cruel form
of mental abuse.
Oh how sad it is that
it has fallen upon you.

~*~

For all the laughter has
been replaced with tears.
Suddenly all of your
independence has been taken away.

~*~

Robbing you of your
wonderful golden years.
As well as taking away
your precious
"Memories Of Yesterday".
